Founded by youth, for Bihar
Our story
Building an entrepreneurial mindset in a state that was told to look for jobs.
BEA was founded in 2011 as a not-for-profit, voluntarily-run organisation by youth who wanted to work passionately for Bihar — a state that lacked an entrepreneurial mindset and sat low on major development indexes, with one of the lowest per-capita incomes in India.
We drafted the Startup Policy for the Government of Bihar, helped bring about a startup committee and ₹500 crore seed capital, and started the Bihar Startup Yatra at district level in 2013.

NewBEA is registered as a Trust and as a Section 8 organisation, tax-exempt under 12AA and 80G (Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt of India). It holds an FCRA licence (Ministry of Home Affairs) for foreign donations and a CSR-1 licence for CSR support.

Secretary General Abhishek Kumar appointed at IAYEA's first council meeting in China, with 26 countries.

BRICS Solution Awards jury
Invited to Moscow as presidium and jury member, after mentoring 200 young leaders from 60 countries at the World Youth Development Forum.
